Charlyn Marie Marshall, best known as Cat Power, is an American indie rock singer and songwriter. Marshall’s music is influenced by the church hymns she grew up listening to, country music and blues played by her father. Cat Power was originally the name of Marshall’s first band, but she adapted the moniker for herself shortly after.
