Jerrod Carmichael is an American stand‑up comedian, writer, actor, and filmmaker from Winston‑Salem, North Carolina, known for introspective, issue‑driven comedy about race, family, and identity. He created and starred in NBC’s The Carmichael Show, has released HBO specials Love at the Store, 8, Rothaniel (in which he comes out as gay), and Don’t Be Gay, directed and starred in the dark comedy film On the Count of Three, and fronted the 2024 HBO docu‑reality series Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show.
