Accessibility statement
Evenz is committed to being accessible to everyone. Here's what we're doing to make that happen.
Our commitment
We believe everyone should be able to discover and attend events. That includes people with disabilities. Evenz is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards, and we're always working to improve.
What we've built
Screen reader support
Evenz works with popular screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. All buttons, forms, and interactive elements have proper labels and roles so screen readers can describe them accurately.
Keyboard navigation
You can navigate and use Evenz entirely with a keyboard. Tab through interactive elements, use arrow keys in lists and menus, and Enter or Space to activate buttons. A visible focus indicator always shows where you are.
Color contrast
All text and interactive elements meet a 4.5:1 contrast ratio, making them readable for people with low vision or color blindness. We avoid relying on color alone to communicate information.
Text sizing
Text scales smoothly up to 200% without breaking the layout. Browser zoom works everywhere on Evenz. You can also adjust text size in your device settings and we'll respect it.
Motion preferences
If your device has reduced-motion enabled, animations and transitions are disabled or simplified on Evenz. Essential interactions still work smoothly.
Captions and transcripts
Any videos we publish include captions and full transcripts so deaf and hard-of-hearing users can access the content.
Known issues
We're aware of a few accessibility gaps and are actively working to fix them:
- Event images: We're adding descriptions to event images so screen readers can describe them. For now, you can request a description from support.
- Seating charts: Interactive seating maps don't yet work fully with screen readers. We're building a text alternative you can request at checkout.
- Mobile keyboard: Some mobile browsers don't fully support keyboard navigation in dropdown menus. Please contact support if this affects you.
Accessibility features
Beyond standards compliance, we've added features specifically designed to help:
- Search filters: Filter events by accessibility features — wheelchair access, ASL interpretation, companion seating, and more.
- Detailed venue info: Each venue page lists parking, restrooms, entry points, and other accessibility details.
- Easy refunds: If you purchase tickets and later discover an event isn't accessible for you, we'll refund you without questions.
- Support: If you have questions about accessibility at a specific event, contact us and we'll help you find the right seats or accommodations.
Reporting issues
Found an accessibility issue on Evenz? Please let us know. Email support@evenz.com with:
- What device and assistive technology you're using
- Which page or feature had the issue
- What went wrong
- How you'd like us to fix it (if you have ideas)
We respond to accessibility reports within 2 business days and aim to ship fixes quickly.
Third-party services
Evenz uses payment processors, analytics, and other services that have their own accessibility commitments. We've chosen partners that meet WCAG 2.1 Level A, but we can't guarantee their full compliance. If you have trouble with a third-party service on our site, let us know and we'll help.
Need help buying tickets? If you're unable to complete a purchase due to an accessibility barrier, contact support and we'll buy the tickets for you and ensure you get the seats you need.
Standards and audits
Evenz aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We conduct annual third-party accessibility audits and fix issues found. Our last audit was completed in May 2024.
