Ryan Castro

Ryan Castro makes reggaeton marked by a hard-won start: as a teenager he sang on streets and public buses to earn money for his family, often rapping for passengers between stops long before a crowd paid to hear him.

Rap and dancehall run alongside reggaeton in his music, influences that grew stronger during a stretch he spent living abroad. He also keeps a festive alter ego, Richy, whom he brings out each December, a sign of the playful streak that runs through his catalogue.
