Canadian rapper Sonreal was born Aaron Hoffmann in Vernon, British Columbia in 1985. Growing up in a small town, he was interested early on in skateboarding and heavy metal, but his tastes quickly shifted to a love of hip-hop after becoming fascinated with classic albums by pillars of the early-'90s East Coast scene like Nas and Mobb Deep. The singer, songwriter, and visual artist burst onto the scene in 2014 with the quirky now-viral video “Everywhere We Go,” which has garnered 22 million views, 75 million collective views and over 100 million audio streams. With an inherent and candid ability to blend alternative-pop and rap with soul, hip hop and pure pop influenced vibes, SonReal’s versatility is pure perfection in a musical climate that applauds creative flexibility — opening the door for the next stage of Aaron Hoffman’s career as a fully-realized artist.
