Deathpact

Deathpact is an anonymous electronic project making heavy, industrial-leaning bass music with a consistently dark centre of gravity. The tracks are built low end first, with distorted bass, thick drops and processed vocal fragments used as texture rather than melody, and they tend to move through several forms before they finish, breaking into frenzied drum patterns or a drum and bass sprint at the close. There are house foundations under the sound design, but the finish is closer to industrial than to anything built for a smooth groove.

The project arrived without conventional promotion and has stayed that way, releasing in short bursts and letting the records find their own audience. An LED mask and a black hood are the whole visual identity, with no name attached and no face shown. A run of EPs established the template, and remixes and collaborative singles extended it, but the presentation has never changed: cryptic, minimal information, and the music doing the introducing.

That anonymity shapes the live side too. Attention falls on the sound and the masked figure rather than on a personality, which suits material this physical. The low frequencies are the point, and they are built to be felt rather than studied. The catalogue moves between forms rather than holding to one tempo, so the music resists settling into the background. It is for listeners who want bass music at its heaviest and are content not to know who is making it.
