Lenny Pearce

Lenny Pearce is a DJ and producer who rebuilds children's songs as techno. The nursery rhymes stay recognisable; everything underneath them is replaced with kick drums, risers and drops taken straight from dance music, so a room full of families gets the sound of a rave attached to words everyone already knows.

The productions are four-to-the-floor and unhurried about it: a hard, clean kick, filtered builds, and a payoff that arrives exactly where a small listener expects it. Melodies are kept simple and sung plainly, because the songs are already familiar. The real work happens in the arrangement, in how long a build is held and how hard the drop lands, and hard dance, big-room and happy hardcore textures all surface along the way.

Pearce came to this from a background performing in pop and dance music, and began making the remixes at home before putting them online. Short-form video carried them far past their original audience, and the demand that followed turned a side project into a full release schedule, including a first album of the material in 2026 and a run of remixes made for the same catalogue of songs.

Onstage he works as a DJ, mixing continuously and running the room from the booth rather than presenting a series of numbers. His practice is built around keeping every generation in the crowd moving at the same time: the adults get production they recognise from their own rave years, and the children get songs they already sing without having to learn anything.

This is dance music made for people too young for a nightclub and for the adults who once lived in them. It works because it takes both halves of that audience seriously, and because the tracks are built to be danced to rather than watched.
