About the Artist
Although inspired by Perrault's fairy tale, Jules Massenet's Cendrillon takes a joyful departure from the original story: there is no pumpkin or carriage, and no fairy slipper to try on. Instead, Cinderella and Prince Charming recognize each other immediately. Their shared loneliness, despite their different social positions, is what truly connects them.
Running Time: Approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, including intermission.
