A Toy Story - Coppelia

Considered one of the greatest comic ballets of the 19th Century, Coppélia continues to be a highly revered classical work in the ballet repertory. It was originally choreographed by Arthur St. Léon in 1870, with music by Léo Delibes.

This production marks Central West Ballet’s return to the beloved favorite of children everywhere, telling the story of an eccentric toymaker who dreams of bringing his mechanical dolls to life.

If the children in your family haven’t been introduced to the joys and story-telling magic of ballet, this is the perfect place to start. Coppélia is a very funny toy story told through dance!

Led by René Daveluy, Artistic Director, and Leslie Ann Larson, Ballet Mistress, Central West Ballet has inspired generations of dancers since 1987.

CWB is a full-service ballet company producing complete yearly seasons, with major classical full-length productions in its repertoire along with neoclassical dance programs and story ballets. The company has presented works by choreographers including Val Caniparoli, Ronn Guidi and George Balanchine.
