The Manhattans

The R&B genre is characterized by a distinctive recording style, drumming rhythms, pitch-correct vocals, and smooth, lush vocal arrangements.

Electronic influences are an increasingly popular trend, and the use of rhythms inspired by hip-hop or dance is typical, although the roughness and hardness inherent in hip-hop may be diminished and attenuated.

The Manhattans are fine members of the genre, American rhythm and blues and soul singers known for their rock ballads.

Their Kiss and Say Goodbye, recorded in 1976 and 1980 by Shining Star, sold millions of copies.

The Manhattans have had 45 hits on the Billboard R&B chart, including twelve top R&B hits in the United States since 1965.
