About the Artist
Garrison Keillor, renowned author and humorist, initiated the beloved radio show "A Prairie Home Companion" nearly 50 years ago, with its first broadcast on July 6, 1974. The show continued to captivate audiences weekly until July 2016. The inspiration for the show came from Keillor's article in The New Yorker about the Grand Ole Opry's farewell performance at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.
As the APHC's 50th Anniversary Tour approaches, fans can look forward to a celebratory and lively stage performance. The cast includes singers Heather Masse and Christine DiGiallonardo, mandolin virtuoso Sam Bush, and fiddle maestro Stuart Duncan. Additionally, the Royal Academy of Actors, featuring Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and sound-effects wizard Fred Newman, will participate, along with music director and keyboardist Richard Dworsky leading the band. It promises to be an extraordinary show!
