Fantastic Negrito

Fantastic Negrito is the stage name of Xavier Amin Dphrepaulezz, an Oakland‑based singer‑songwriter whose music fuses blues, Black roots, funk, rock, and soul into gritty, politically charged songs. After an early major‑label career and a near‑fatal car accident, he relaunched as Fantastic Negrito, won the first NPR Tiny Desk Contest in 2015, and went on to earn three consecutive Grammys for Best Contemporary Blues Album with The Last Days of Oakland, Please Don’t Be Dead, and Have You Lost Your Mind Yet?, plus later projects like the roots‑and‑heritage concept album White Jesus Black Problems.
