Sugar is an American alternative rock band formed by Bob Mould in 1991 alongside bassist David Barbe and drummer Malcolm Travis. Their debut album Copper Blue (1992) was named Album of the Year by NME and is widely praised for its melodic intensity and emotional songwriting. Best known for tracks such as “If I Can’t Change Your Mind,” “A Good Idea,” and “Helpless,” Sugar became recognized for powerful guitar-driven sound and cathartic live performances, cementing their status as one of the defining alt-rock acts of the early 1990s.
