The Dirty Knobs is a band formed by some of the most well-respected, prolific musicians of the past 40 years, including Mike Campbell, lead guitarist for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The Dirty Knobs tend to keep an illusive profile, but The Independent was fortunate enough to interview the Campbell, who is the group’s guitarist and vocalist, about his ripping band and their upcoming show. Campbell had a very down to earth and resolute tone about him. It was evident that his years of playing as one of the best had given him some ultimate wisdom. Campbell stressed that The Dirty Knobs play their music for pure musical experimentation and spiritual enjoyment, he elaborated: “The band is definitely family because it’s about having fun together…We love to do it, so we’ve gotten really close.” Age: 21+ Event
