Formed by three cousins in 1969, the band reached their peak in the 1980s with a blend of southern rock and twangy country balladry. This formula has influenced many artists, from Garth Brooks to Luke Bryan, in the subsequent years. Among the group's best-known tracks are "Love in the First Degree," "Mountain Music," "Song of the South," and "I'm In A Hurry (And Don't Know Why)."
