About
The Lumineers are an American folk rock band formed in Denver, Colorado in 2005. The band consists of Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar), Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion, piano), and Lauren Jacobson (cello, vocals). Their sound is characterized by acoustic guitar, mandolin, and piano, along with the use of stomping and clapping as percussion. The Lumineers gained widespread attention with their self-titled debut album in 2012, which included the hit single "Ho Hey". The song reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since been certified triple platinum. The album itself went on to be certified double platinum in the United States. Their subsequent albums, "Cleopatra" (2016) and "III" (2019), both debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The band has won numerous awards, including two Grammy nominations, and has toured extensively around the world. The Lumineers' music is often described as earnest, introspective, and heartfelt, with themes that range from love and loss to hope and resilience. They continue to be one of the most popular folk rock bands of the 21st century.
