Scandal

SCANDAL is a Japanese J-Pop/J-Rock band from Osaka consisting of four members: Haruna (leader, lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Tomomi (bass guitar, lead vocals), Mami (lead guitar, vocals), Rina (drums, vocals). Four high school girls from Osaka, as ardent music lovers, decided to write and play their own songs, combining the hobby with regular school life.

As time went on, they began to receive requests for concerts from various clubs in Kyoto and Osaka. At the beginning of September 2008, they started negotiating with the head of Sony Music Japan about a new contract, because Tower Records had released very few of their CDs, and they sold out very quickly.

The band was formed on August 21, 2006. Some of the band's songs are used as oppenings and endings to anime, games and movies. Performing songs in pop-rock style, one should keep in mind, that Japanese culture is not much alike the western culture we know, that is why even very familiar songs can gain a new sound and style in this band's performance. The multifaceted and diverse approach to the choice of genre only emphasizes SCANDAL's uniqueness and originality.
