The Cottage

"The Cottage" is a musical comedy that tells the story of two sisters, Belinda and Chelsea, who inherit a run-down cottage in the English countryside from their aunt. The sisters plan to renovate the cottage and turn it into a vacation rental, but they soon discover that the property is also coveted by a wealthy developer who wants to demolish it and build a luxury hotel.

As the sisters work to renovate the cottage, they encounter a cast of quirky characters, including a lovelorn farmer, a nosy neighbor, and a local historian who uncovers a long-buried secret about the property. Meanwhile, they must also navigate their own complicated love lives, with Belinda falling for the farmer and Chelsea rekindling a romance with an ex-boyfriend who happens to be the developer's son.

The musical features a score by Megan Cavallari and a book by Sarah Hammond, with direction by Margot Bordelon. The show premiered Off-Broadway at the Greenwich House Theater in New York City in 2018, where it received positive reviews for its catchy songs, witty dialogue, and charming characters.
