About the Artist
Derrick Carter is an American DJ, producer, and musician from Chicago, widely regarded as one of the key figures in 1990s and “second‑wave” Chicago house and one of the world’s top underground house DJs. Known for technically flawless, genre‑hopping sets rooted in jackin’ house but freely mixing disco, soul, jazz, and oddities, he’s released influential tracks and mixes under his own name and aliases, run labels like Classic (with Luke Solomon), and held long‑running residencies at legendary clubs such as smartbar.
