Over the past decade, few artists have epitomized the raw freedom of punk quite like Skating Polly. The band was formed when stepsisters Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse were just 9 and 13 years old, respectively. Hailing from Oklahoma, they have channeled their ever-evolving musical talent into a genre-defying sound they describe as "ugly-pop" – a blend of unruly, subversive, and wildly melodic elements. Joined by Kelli's brother, Kurtis Mayo, on drums, Skating Polly has cultivated a devoted fanbase and earned the respect of their musical predecessors. This achievement has led to collaborations with icons such as X's Exene Cervenka and Beat Happening's Calvin Johnson, as well as touring opportunities with Babes In Toyland. Their journey has even been chronicled in a feature-length documentary, highlighting their remarkable rise in the music industry.
