Sin Bandera

Blessed with a melodic touch that made them a sensation right out of the gate, Sin Bandera enjoyed enormous acclaim and commercial success with their self-titled debut in 2002 and continued to record superlative romantic Latin pop in the years that followed. Formed in 2000, Sin Bandera are comprised of Leonel García and Noel Schajiris; the former is from Mexico, the latter Argentina, and both are musicians, composers, and singers. Schajiris had already released a solo album, in 1999, but when the two singer/songwriter/musicians befriended one another and realized how complementary they were to one another artistically, they joined together and began to work on songs for an album. García played guitar, Schajiris played piano, and fellow musician Aureo Baqueiro assumed the role of producer, also contributing various instrumentation. The guys decided to bill themselves as Sin Bandera (Without a Flag) because of their mixed heritage as well as their belief in unity among diverse peoples.
