About
Handel’s Messiah is a large‑scale English oratorio composed by George Frideric Handel in 1741, best known for its “Hallelujah” Chorus and for being performed frequently at Christmas and Easter. Structured in three parts, it moves from Old Testament prophecies and the birth of Christ (Part I), through his passion, resurrection, and the spread of the gospel (Part II, ending with the “Hallelujah” Chorus), to the final victory over death and the promise of resurrection and eternal life (Part III).
